How to Press Your Transfers
Follow these simple steps for a perfect press every time. No experience needed.
1
Set Your Heat Press or Iron
Heat press: 160°C (320°F) for cotton, 140°C (285°F) for polyester, medium-firm pressure. Iron: set to cotton/linen setting (no steam). Place parchment paper over the transfer to protect it.
2
Pre-Press the Garment
Press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. This ensures a smooth, flat surface for application.

Pro Tip
Every heat press is different. We recommend testing with a spare garment or scrap fabric first. If edges lift after washing, increase pressure or add 2–3 seconds to your press time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a DTF transfer?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are pre-printed designs on a special film that you apply to garments using a heat press. They produce vibrant, full-colour prints with a soft feel and excellent wash durability.
What equipment do I need?
A heat press gives the best results (flat press or swing-away, 15×15″ works for most sizes). If you don’t have a heat press, a household iron on cotton/linen setting (no steam) also works — just apply firm, even pressure for longer (20–30 seconds) and use parchment paper on top.
What fabrics can I press transfers onto?
DTF transfers work on virtually any fabric: cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, denim, canvas, and more. They work on both light and dark coloured garments.
How long do the transfers last?
With proper application and care (washing inside-out at 30°C, no tumble drying), our transfers are engineered to withstand 60°C washes and maintain vibrancy for the life of the garment.
Do I need to weed the transfers?
No! Unlike vinyl (HTV), DTF transfers require zero weeding. Simply cut around the design leaving a small margin and press. The adhesive only bonds where the ink is printed.
How should I store unused transfers?
Store transfers flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. They have a shelf life of approximately 6 months when stored correctly.
What is a Gang Sheet?
A gang sheet lets you tile multiple different designs onto a single 14″ × 18″ sheet. We arrange your designs to maximise space, making it ideal for small logos, labels, or when you need a variety of designs printed cost-effectively. You only pay per sheet, not per design.
Can I order a sample first?
Absolutely! Order a single transfer in any size to test with your equipment before committing to a larger order.
Need Transfers Pressed For You?
Don’t have a heat press? No problem. We’ll print and press your designs onto garments and ship them ready to wear.
